Research from molecules to materials The Institute of Textile Chemistry and Chemical Fibers Denkendorf conducts applied research along the whole production chain in close cooperation with international networks. The ITCF specialises in the development of sustainable processes and materials from synthetic and natural polymers. They are the basis for the development of new materials, fibre-based functional materials and intelligent textile structures for textile and life sciences applications, for technical textiles and environmental applications. Applying product and technology-oriented innovations and management concepts, the ITCF boosts their customers’ ability to compete and help secure their region, Germany and Europe and worldwide as beneficial economic locations. Contracting bodies are industrial enterprises and large-scaleservice providers as well as the state. Our main goal is to convey scientific results to the industry. R&D for business and industry We develop individual, technically feasible, and organizational solutions for our clients. Products and processes are developed to market-readiness in cooperation with industrial partners. The ITCF is an important supplier of innovative know-how for small and medium-sized enterprises without an own R&D department.
